“LIGHT ART”
With excitement one follows the softly threading in and out elements of reinforced glass fabric with the various hands, leaves, etc. or simply umbrellas. The indirectly attached LED light reflects the colors of the image, so that always new light appearances and impressions arise.
A very special atmosphere, which one must have experienced.
First of all, they are painted contemporary pictures, which have their effect even without light effects. Then but especially in the evening or in the darkness they come through your light effects in action as light art.
Here you can see the back of a picture with the wiring, the cable clamps and the light processor.
The LED lamps last 50,000 hours, which means that if the light program runs for 8 hours a day, the LED's will last about 40 to 50 years and longer.... and they consume almost no electricity. Besides, they are easy to replace.

Caribbean Beach
First, this is a contemporary painting spackled with acrylic in Picchio's Segment Art. But then there are epoxy-reinforced elemnets at a distance of 5 to 7 cm from the canvas. These are in the shape of sunshades - as if looking down on a beach in the Caribbean from above. LED lights are placed under these umbrellas and a light processor controls this light with slow on and off filaments. Thus you have light art, especially beautiful at dusk or in the dark.

“Human communication”
How to communicate with hands
communicates....
Here first is Picchio's typical style: segmental art, modern spackled in acrylic. Then there are 21 hands on translucent hexagons floating in epoxy-reinforced glass fabric at a distance of between 3 and 5 cm above the image. Under each hexagon are LED lights that thread in and out in sequence and are controlled by a light processor.
In the evening, the hands appear almost as shadows, as light art.

“Life insurance”
Without leaves - no life...
You see here the picture without light, in the dark with only two and with all LED's illuminated. The light is controlled by a light processor, which creates the light art.
The round, epoxy-hardened glass fabric panels float in front of the canvas at a distance of 3 to 5 cm. Here are the different leaves painted on.

“LAN - Local Area Network”
3 webs and a spider...
Here you see the image at daytime; but with the different lights in blue and white and red it comes into action. The individual LEDs are controlled by a light processor. The nets are painted on translucent fiberglass fabric, hardened with epoxy, and hover 3 - 5 cm above the canvas.
So two works in one, a modern painting and light art.

When stars die - after some billions of years - they turn completely red - just before...
Here you see the image at daytime; but with the different lights in white and red it comes into action. The individual LEDs are controlled by a light processor. The red round panels are painted on from painted fiberglass fabric, hardened with epoxy, and hover at 3 - 5 cm intervals above the canvas.
So you have two works in one, a contemporary painting and light art.

"Ah, don't they sting?" asks the visitor as he enters the room and notices the picture with the bees.
"Yes, this is a very interesting picture. And especially the title has even a deeper meaning."
"What?"
"It's a metaphor, it means 'work force' "
"Yes that's right, the bees are a hardworking people".
As darkness falls, the visitor notices the play of indirect lighting behind each bee, slowly turning on and off in intervals, illuminating one bee after another. -
"This is fascinating!" he exclaims. "You have an image during the day and a play of light at night. - I might like that too.... "

“My love”
"Ow, how beautiful Margaret flowers!" says the visitor in surprise when he notices the picture of Picchio.
"Yes, this is something special. The artist painted that for his wife, whose name is Margaret."
"And what's the title? - Margarete?"
"No, better: 'my love'"
"Yes of course, as usual!" says the visitor with a grin.
Then he is surprised, nevertheless, when in the evening the light art dominates the work of art and indirectly illuminates one flower after another in a certain rhythm. "That's really great. It's certainly something new. - And how the underlying color of the abstract painting glows. - Great!"

"Water on the mills"
"Ah, water on the mills! - Something different for a change! - Half abstract and half realistic!" says the visitor laughing as he enters the room and immediately notices the many mill wheels.
"Yes, good guess, that's the title of the work. I also didn't think there would be so many different mill wheels."
When the flow of water is illuminated in the late afternoon and individual white LED lights gradually shine indirectly against the painting behind the millwheels, the visitor's gaze falls on the millwheels again and he says, "This is light art. - Really something new. Very interesting. - And how the color of the painting below is reflected back. Fascinating!"
